Gregory Saliba, Vice President and Client Service Officer at Capital Pacific Bank, was recently honored with the 2010 Oregon Ethics in Business Award in the Individual category.
A partnership between Rotary Club of Portland, the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University and the Portland Business Journal, the Oregon Ethics in Business awards honor organizations and individuals who have demonstrated ethical business practice in its broadest interpretation in the workplace, the marketplace, the environment, and the community. Award recipients have, by act and example, gone beyond the expected to achieve excellence in ethical business practices. A committee of community leaders initially reviewed all nominations, and once finalists were selected, student teams from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management conducted research and prepared reports for a selection committee to determine award recipients.
"We’re very proud of Greg’s accomplishments and, more importantly, his ongoing commitment to the community," said Mark Stevenson, Capital Pacific Bank President and CEO.
Saliba has worked as a finance instructor at Portland State University since 2003 and participated in PSU’s Business Mentorship Program since 2005. In 2007, Saliba ran the Portland Marathon to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and in 2008 he was recognized as one of the Portland Business Journal’s "40 under 40".
Saliba and the four other Oregon Ethics in Business award recipients will be honored at a banquet featuring keynote speaker Nell Newman of Newman’s Own Organics at 6:00 p.m. on June 9, 2010 at the Governor Hotel. For more information, please visit www.oregonethicsinbusiness.org.
