Richard Alexander
Chairman
Mr. Alexander is the founder and retired Chief Executive Officer of Viking Industries, a highly successful window and door manufacturing company headquartered in Portland. His extensive civic involvement has included service as President of the Rose Festival Association, Chairman of Associated Oregon Industries, a board member of Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, as well as serving on numerous other commissions and boards. Mr. Alexander has been recognized with honors by the FBI for his work with the Crime Commission.
Werner Nistler, Jr.
Director
Mr. Nistler is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Touchmark, one of Oregon’s top 150 privately held companies. He has established and grown a variety of businesses over the past 30 years, including Touchmark, which develops and operates resort retirement and health care communities in the West, Midwest and Canada. Among other enterprises, in 1982, Werner formed Beaverton Banking Company, a state chartered bank, which became Valley National Bank and ultimately part of U.S. Bank. He has served on the Board of Directors for Beaverton Banking Company, Valley National Bank, and currently serves on the Board for Capital Pacific Bank. He is a Certified Public Accountant. Werner was born in Beach, North Dakota, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Dakota as well as a Master of Science in Accounting from Arizona State University. Following college, he did a two-year Army tour, operating Officer’s Clubs. Werner is very active in his church and serves on the Board of Trustees for Jesuit High School, Valley Catholic Capital Campaign, and the Catholic Charities Cabinet. He and his wife, Colleen, have six children.
Ronald A.
Shellan
Director
Mr. Shellan is a partner with Miller Nash LLP, where he leads the affordable housing practice group and also specializes in tax, real estate and corporate law. He is also a Certified Public Accountant. He has chaired the Oregon State Bar tax section, and has twice served on the board of directors of the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Shellan has been active in a number of community organizations including service on behalf of the The ARC of Multnomah Clackamas, Multiple Sclerosis Society Oregon Chapter, Robison Jewish Home and the Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants Charitable Foundation.
Mark
Stevenson
Director, President and CEO
Mark Stevenson became the Chief Executive Officer of the Bank in December 2005. Mr. Stevenson has more than 25 years of experience in commercial banking, credit management and corporate finance, including at U.S. Bancorp and Security Pacific Bank. Most recently, he was a Managing Director of Debt Capital Markets for Piper Jaffray & Co. (previously U.S. Bancorp Piper Jaffray and U.S. Bancorp Securities) from December 1997 to May 2005, where he specialized in providing high quality capital structure advisory services to corporate clients. From 1991 to 1997, Mr. Stevenson was Senior Vice President and Credit Approval Manager for U.S. Bank’s national corporate and international banking groups, where he was responsible for credit approval and management of a $1.7 billion credit portfolio. Immediately prior to joining Capital Pacific Bank, Mr. Stevenson spent a month on a Mercy Corps project where he trained management and staff of Mongolia’s XacBank on effective small business lending practices, underwriting and new business development. Mr. Stevenson serves as board member of the Oregon Bankers Association and the Oregon Wildlife Heritage Foundation.
Thomas Tomjack
Vice Chairman & Founder
Mr. Tomjack is past Chairman of the North Pacific Group, of which North Pacific Lumber is a part. He currently serves on the Board of Regents of the University of Portland. Further, Mr. Tomjack has served, or continues to serve, as an active member of a number of privately held entities.
Grant Watkinson
Director
Mr. Watkinson is the retired co-founder and President of Coastwide Laboratories (“Coastwide”), a janitorial supply company that pioneered the manufacturing and distribution of green cleaning chemicals, in which position he served for more than 30 years prior to 2006. Coastwide earned the BEST (Businesses for an Environmentally Sustainable Tomorrow) award for their Sustainable Earth® product line. Mr. Watkinson continued to act in an advisory capacity to Coastwide following its 2006 acquisition by Corporate Express (A Staples Company) through August 2009. Mr. Watkinson was appointed to the Oregon Community Sustainability Council by former Governor Kitzhaber and is a sustaining member with the Natural Step Network. He is an advisory board member of Stand for Children Oregon as well as co-chair of Lake Oswego’s Sustainability Advisory Board.
Karen
Whitman

Ms. Whitman is the President of Karen Whitman Projects. For over 30 years, Ms. Whitman has been one of Portland’s most prolific advocates at the epicenter of activities that have defined local and statewide communities. Over the course of her professional career she has been involved in or has led the visionary shaping of many successful and internationally known projects in economic and real estate development, tourism, public space development and technology. She was a founder consultant of the Association for Portland Progress (now Portland Business Alliance), Artquake and Sunset Corridor Association. Ms. Whitman is currently past chair of both the Oregon Sports Authority and the Portland Schools Foundation. She is a founder director of Capital Pacific Bank. She is also a board member of the Friends of Astoria Column, Inc., and the Museum of the City.
