Credit Analyst

Department:   Lending Sales Team

Position Function
Responsible for assisting in and coordinating the preparation and compilation of all loan approval requests, loan documentation and credit file information. Assist Lending CSO in maintaining good relationships with clients and properly monitoring client relationships for positive and adverse changes in financial condition. Adhere to policies and procedures to ensure effective loan administration that complies with all Federal and state rules and regulation.
Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Spread and analyze financial statements and tax returns
  2. Obtain all available and necessary financial data from the credit file or outside sources, including credit reports, Trio reports, title reports, environmental reports, and insurance information.
  3. Assist CSOs (Client Service Officers are Capital Pacific Bank’s lenders) in preparing written reports, credit approval documents, and overall portfolio monitoring.
  4. Maintain a tickler system of, and inform CSOs when up-to-date/current financial statements/reports are needed on borrowers.
  5. Maintain a tickler system of, and inform CSOs about pending expirations/maturities of lines of credit, and assist in the renewals.
  6. Organize and assemble borrower’s credit file information according to bank practice.
  7. Prepare loan boarding data sheets and interface with Loan Servicing in preparing loan documents.
  8. Assist CSOs and Loan Servicing in closing approved loan transactions.
  9. Assist and provide back-up support to CSOs, including following with customers for current financial information and other file documentation as needed.
  10. Check on pledged assets as requested by CSOs.
  11. Review/process international transactions, including documentation acceptances and letters of credit.
  12. Determine, usually on own initiative, procedures to be followed to insure the development and maintenance of effective department operations in compliance with applicable Federal and state regulations, and bank policies. Perform spot checks to ensure conformance with above.
  13. Maintain proper records and safeguards, compiling necessary reports, and audit department loan and credit files.
  14. Assist in the collection of past due accounts; and ensure compliance with appropriate regulations.
  15. Assist in coordinating and expediting flow of work through the department.
  16. Assist department operations to assure adequate, efficient, and courteous service to department’s customers.
  17. Keep informed of current bank policies, goals, and practices, and be conversant with bank services and their application.
  18. Make certain that department work spaces are kept neat and orderly, in order to provide an inviting atmosphere for employees and visitors.
  19. Assist in resolving customer problems and complaints.
  20. Professionally handle correspondence relating to customer relationship matters.
  21. Prepare periodic reports on department and bank credit risk assets for management, the board of directors, regulators, and investors.
  22. Answer mail and telephone inquiries from clients about services offered, terms of account agreements, and complaints.
  23. Participate in and attend activities of civic, service, and fraternal organizations for development of contacts and promotion of good will for the bank.
  24. Review various publications and business journals to keep abreast of general economic, business, marketing, and credit trends.
  25. Perform other duties as required.

  1. Make recommendations to supervisor about the budgetary needs of the department.
Relationship
  1. Report to Lending Client Service Officer.
  2. Advise and assist managers, officers, and staff in their respective functions as they may relate to commercial loan products and services.
  3. Maintain positive relationships with customers, the public, and the community, and conduct relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the Bank.
  4. Participate from time to time with community organizations and in community projects.
Education & Experience
  1. Bachelor degree in business, finance, or accounting.
  2. Good financial analytical abilities.
  3. One year or more of experience with credit analysis, process and systems.

Client Account Representative I

Department:   Banking Office

Reports To:       Banking Office Manager
Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing superior customer service while performing banking related tasks. Tasks include new accounts, teller, operational functions and sales support. This position requires a good understanding of branch operations, and should be familiar with legal, audit, regulatory compliance, and is responsible for conformance with bank policy.
Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Maintain thorough knowledge of products and services that the bank offers
  2. Ensure that a neat, tidy and professional branch environment is maintained at all times
  3. Work as a part of a team in a professional environment
  4. Protect Bank assets prevent operational losses and ensure customer confidentiality
  5. Represent the bank in the community and demonstrate support of the Bank’s mission and community focus
  6. Develop and maintain expertise in the deposit, teller and relationship management systems
  7. Complete branch certifications and other audit requirements as assigned
  8. Partner with client service officers for outside sales calls
  9. Identify and discuss product needs with prospects and existing clients
  10. Open and close accounts
  11. Serve as teller, balance vault, branch cash, prepare and accept shipments, etc
  12. Responsible for opening and closing security procedures
  13. Provide superior service to all clients (i.e. greet with a smile, greet all clients immediately, call clients by name, return calls promptly, and recognize the needs of the client)
  14. Analyze transactions to determine if they are suspicious in nature and takes appropriate action and completes proper documentation
  15. Assist customers with dispute resolution regarding account and bank card theft or fraud
  16. Responsible for safe deposit box processing, including access, new account box set-up and surrender
  17. Perform ATM processing and balancing
  18. Review all delegated, system-generated reports for accuracy and to ensure proper authorization forms are on file
  19. Communicate effectively with Client Service Officers and clients to resolve daily overdraft and deficit reports
  20. Process returned deposited items and deposit adjustments
Skill Requirements
  1. Good written and verbal communication and customer service skills
  2. Two to three years previous banking experience
  3. Good cash handling skills
  4. Basic knowledge of banking regulatory compliance
